The ADAS conversation on a Honda Civic
Your Honda Civic carries a forward-facing camera mounted on the windshield as part of the Honda Sensing suite. After the new glass is installed, that camera has to be recalibrated - it needs to relearn its position relative to the road, the lane lines, and the front of your vehicle. Skipping this step does not make a warning light come on right away; it makes the lane-keep system steer toward the wrong line and the pre-collision system brake at the wrong distance. We do the calibration as part of the job - not a separate appointment somewhere else, not an upsell.

Your Honda Civic originally rolled off the line with glass from AGC and Pilkington (Honda OEM partners). When we replace, we source either OEM glass from the same supplier or an OEM-equivalent from a major aftermarket maker (Pilkington, AGC, Saint-Gobain Sekurit) that matches the original spec - the right thickness, the right interlayer, the right bracket positions for your sensors, the right HUD coating if your trim has it.
Honda Sensing is standard on current Civics. The forward-facing camera sits high-center on the windshield and needs a proper calibration on every replacement. Many Civics also have an acoustic interlayer - that quiet ride is partly the glass, and aftermarket non-acoustic glass will undo it.
We will quote both options when both are valid. We will tell you when only OEM will work - usually because of HUD projection, an unusual sensor bracket, or an acoustic-glass spec your aftermarket equivalent does not match.
