Last updated: October 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Buffalo Windshield collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, calling or texting us, or booking service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
Buffalo Windshield Chip & Crack Repair LLC ("Buffalo Windshield," "we," "us," "our") is a mobile and in-shop auto glass repair and replacement business serving Buffalo, Erie County, Niagara County and nearby communities in Western New York. Our address is 62 Republic Street, Buffalo, NY 14204. Our phone and text number is (716) 548-2683.
We are the business responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy covers buffalowindshield.com and our subdomains (the "Site"), our phone calls and text messages, our quote and scheduling tools, and our in-person service.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following kinds of information, depending on how you deal with us.
- Contact details: your name, phone number, email address, and the address, ZIP code or location where the vehicle is or where you want service.
- Quote and job details: vehicle year, make and model, VIN or license plate if you share it, a description of the damage, photos or files you upload, preferred dates and times, and notes you give us.
- Insurance and payment details: your insurance company, policy or claim number, deductible information, and payment records. If we take a card payment, a payment processor handles the card number. We do not store full card numbers on the Site.
- Calls and messages: the content and time of calls, voicemails, texts and emails with us, and the phone number you used. Calls to our business number may be answered or handled by an automated phone assistant that uses artificial intelligence. We tell you at the start of the call that it may be recorded. We may keep call recordings, transcripts and summaries to schedule work, check quality, train our team and settle disputes. You can ask to speak with a person.
- Website and device data: pages viewed, links, buttons, phone numbers, text links, email links and map directions you click, forms you start or submit, how far you scroll, the date and time, your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, operating system, language, and the website or ad that sent you to us.
- Cookie and tag data: identifiers created by cookies, pixels, tags and similar tools on the Site (see the cookies, analytics and advertising section below).
- Reviews and feedback: ratings, comments and testimonials you choose to send us or post about us.
3. Where the information comes from
- You, when you call, text, email, fill in a form, upload photos, book, pay, or talk to our technicians.
- Your device and browser, automatically, when you visit the Site.
- Your insurance company or glass claim administrator, when you ask us to handle a claim.
- Advertising and analytics partners, which tell us how you found us and whether an ad led to a call, text or form.
- Public sources such as business listings and review sites.
4. How we use information
- To answer your questions, give quotes, schedule and perform windshield repair, windshield replacement, side and rear glass work, and driver-assist (ADAS) calibration, and to follow up on your request.
- To work with your insurance company or claim administrator when you ask us to, including submitting claim information on your behalf.
- To send appointment confirmations, arrival and reminder messages, service updates, invoices, receipts and warranty information.
- To handle payment, billing and collections.
- To respond to warranty requests, complaints, damage claims and disputes.
- To measure and improve the Site, our services and our advertising, including finding out which ads and pages bring in calls and quote requests.
- To show our ads to people who may want auto glass service, and to measure those ads.
- To keep the Site, our systems and our customers safe, and to detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse and bots.
- To meet legal, tax, insurance, accounting and recordkeeping duties, and to enforce our terms.
- With your consent, to send you marketing messages. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
The Site uses cookies, pixels, tags, local storage and similar technologies. Some are ours. Others come from the companies below, which may collect and use the data under their own privacy policies.
- Our own analytics: records page views, clicks on calls, texts, emails, directions and buttons, form starts and submissions, scroll depth and the traffic source, so we can tell which marketing works.
- Google (Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads): measures traffic and ad performance and helps show our ads on Google.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, LinkedIn and X: measure ad results and help us show ads to people who visited the Site or are similar to them.
These tools can follow your visits across websites and devices. You can limit them in your browser settings, by blocking or deleting cookies, through your phone or tablet advertising settings, or with the opt-out tools those companies provide, such as Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (optout.aboutads.info). You can also opt out of advertising use of your data by calling or texting us. The Site does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because there is no common standard for them. Google explains how it uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.
6. Text messages and calls
By giving your mobile number and ticking the consent box on a form (or by texting us), you agree to receive recurring automated texts from Buffalo Windshield about your quote, appointment, service and warranty. We send marketing texts only if you separately agree to them. Consent to texts is not a condition of buying anything from us.
Message frequency varies with your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel, or HELP for help, or call (716) 548-2683. After you reply STOP we may send one last message to confirm. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party. See our Terms of Service for the full text messaging terms.
7. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as needed, with:
- Service providers that help us run the business: phone, text and email providers, speech and artificial intelligence providers that power our phone assistant and transcribe calls, website hosting, form and database tools, scheduling, payment processors, accounting, and analytics tools. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Insurance companies, glass claim administrators and adjusters, when you ask us to handle a claim or when needed to process one.
- Advertising and analytics partners listed in the cookies, analytics and advertising section, which receive device and activity data through cookies and tags. This may count as a "sale," "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some state laws. You can opt out through the links in the cookies, analytics and advertising section or by calling or texting (716) 548-2683.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and insurers, and collection agencies if an account goes unpaid.
- Authorities and other parties when the law requires it, to respond to legal process, to protect rights, safety and property, or to investigate fraud or misuse.
- A buyer or successor, if we sell or reorganize the business. We would require them to honor this policy.
We may also share information that has been de-identified or combined so that it no longer identifies you.
8. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we need it to quote and perform work, honor the lifetime workmanship warranty, handle claims and disputes, keep business, tax and insurance records, and meet legal duties. Quote requests that never become jobs are kept for a shorter time. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove what identifies you. Warranty records may be kept for as long as the warranty applies.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep.
- Opt out of sharing or sale of your information for advertising, and of targeted advertising.
- Withdraw consent to texts or marketing at any time (reply STOP, or contact us).
- Not be treated worse for using these rights.
To use a right, call or text (716) 548-2683 or write to us at the address in the contact section with the subject "Privacy request." We may need to confirm who you are before we act, and you may use an authorized agent. We will respond within the time the law requires. If we deny a request, you may ask us to review the decision. You can also contact your state attorney general. New York residents may contact the New York Attorney General's Office.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and trusted hosting, to protect information. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects the private information of New York residents, we will notify affected people and the New York authorities as required by General Business Law section 899-aa. Please do not send card numbers, Social Security numbers or passwords by text, email or form.
11. Children
Our services and the Site are for adults who own or manage vehicles. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you think a child gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other sites
The Site may link to other websites, maps, review pages and social media. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before you share information.
13. Photos and uploads
Photos and files you upload are used to assess damage, prepare quotes and document the job. Please do not include people, other license plates, documents or private information in photos if you can avoid it. We may keep before and after photos of work as service records. We will not use photos that show you or identify you in our marketing without your permission.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. If a change is material, we will give a clearer notice where the law requires it. Using the Site or our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
15. State privacy rights
Residents of some states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others, have privacy rights under their state laws, such as the rights to know, access, correct, delete and opt out described above, and the right to appeal a denied request. We honor these rights for all of our customers where we reasonably can, whether or not a state law requires it. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information beyond what you choose to give us for a job, such as a VIN or insurance details, and we use it only to provide the Services.
16. Where information is stored
We and our service providers store and process information in the United States. If you use the Site from outside the United States, you understand your information will be handled here under US law.
17. Accessibility
We want the Site to work for everyone. If you have trouble using any part of it or need this policy in another form, call or text (716) 548-2683 and we will help you or give you the information another way.
