Everything we do on a Ford F-150
We are a Buffalo, NY mobile windshield shop. We come to your driveway, your office parking lot, or wherever your Ford F-150 is parked - throughout all 21 of our Western New York green-zone service areas. On a typical Ford F-150 we handle the full menu:
- Windshield chip repair - most chips fixed in 20 to 30 minutes. UV-cured optical resin. You drive away immediately. Lifetime warranty.
- Crack repair - cracks up to about 24 inches can often be saved. We assess in person before we commit.
- Full windshield replacement - when the damage is too far gone to repair. OEM-spec glass where it matters (HUD, acoustic, heated, ADAS).
- ADAS calibration - on every Ford F-150 equipped with a windshield-mounted camera, calibration is part of the replacement, not an upsell after.
- Mobile service throughout WNY - we come to you. No travel surcharge in our service area.
Why a Ford F-150 is its own conversation
F-150 windshields vary widely by trim and year. Higher trims (Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited) usually carry the forward-facing camera, rain sensor, and a heated wiper-park area. Base XL trucks often have none of those. We always ask the year and trim before quoting so we know whether a calibration is in scope.
Sonny's rule is simple: repair when we can, replace when you need to, we do both. If your damage can be saved with a chip repair, that is what you will hear from us - because the chip repair is faster, cheaper, and keeps your original factory seal intact.
Ford F-150 damage we see in Buffalo
Trucks take a different beating than sedans. The F-150 sits higher, the windshield is bigger and more upright, and the daily driving pattern - I-90 to a job site, Clarence farm roads, gravel hauling - means highway rock-truck spray and gravel-road impacts are by far the most common damage we see. Most F-150 chips are mid-pane bullseye or star hits in the upper third of the glass.
The ADAS conversation on this vehicle
Your Ford F-150 runs the Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist suite, which includes:
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
- Lane-Keeping System (lane departure warning + lane-keeping aid)
- BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go (Co-Pilot360 Assist)
- Forward-facing camera mounted on the windshield (replacement triggers calibration on most trims/years)
When the windshield camera sits behind the glass (which it does on most modern Ford F-150 trims), a replacement triggers a mandatory recalibration - the camera has to learn its new position relative to the road, or the lane-keep and pre-collision systems will read the world wrong. We handle the calibration as part of the job, never a separate appointment somewhere else.
Repair or replace? Two paths from here
Most damage falls into one of two buckets. Here is where to go next:
- Ford F-150 chip repair - chips smaller than a quarter, no spreading crack legs, not in the driver line of sight. Faster, no calibration trigger, you keep the factory seal.
- Ford F-150 windshield replacement - cracks beyond about 24 inches, chips in the driver line of sight, multiple impacts, or damage at the edge of the glass that compromises the seal. Includes OEM-spec glass selection plus post-installation ADAS calibration where required.
How we quote your Ford F-150
Honest, in under 60 seconds. We do not quote without a photo - because the difference between a repair and a replacement on the same windshield can be a few millimeters. Text a clear shot of the damage along with your year and trim, and we will text back with:
- what your damage actually needs (repair vs. replacement) - the honest version
- what OEM-spec glass and calibration are in scope if it is a replacement
- the next realistic time slot in our schedule
Ask us about insurance billing too - many NY comprehensive policies cover the full cost of chip repair without a deductible, and most cover replacement subject to your deductible. We are happy to walk through how that works.
