-Places we love in our local area. Jan 2024

Here at Buffalo Windshield chip and crack repair we take alot of pride in being a buffalonian. i just wanted to take some time and share some of my favorite local places to eat, live, and explore.
As I am a first ward resident their are two places that are just icons of the ward life- Carbones and Gene mcarthys. As a person who lived most of his youth in NYC I have a thing for ny style pizza. When I came to buffalo I just couldnt understand why anyone wouldnt make pizza they way I had it at home. Carbones changed all that. Buffalo has a style of pizza that stands on its own. IF your ever in the area check this iconic pizza joint out.
Now Gene MCarthys is just as established as a local watering hole can be. Its the bar that your grandparents have stories about. Nestled in the back of an old Irish neighborhood, the first ward, you quickly feel as though you have stepped outside of the city of Buffalo and have crashed in 1978. Its america as I had it growing up.

Something of a new comer to the area is Buffalo riverworks. I have to admit I absolutely love looking out my window in the first ward and seeing the ferris wheel they put up recently. It always makes me feel like im on the set of Lost Boys. Well, not in the winter. Riverworks took the best part of every concert, club, sporting arena, hangout spot, river bar, nightlife and put it into one location. I've enjoyed every event I have ever been to their and Im sure you will too.
Now  one phenomena that I cant explain is the explosion of breweries and distilleries in the local area. Ive lived here for 8 years and it seems whenever I turn my back a brewery pops up that is one of the best in the world. I could spend hours talking about each place but who has the time. So I just include a list of some of my favorites in the area.
1- resurgence brewery
2- Briar brothers brewing
3- Ballyhoos
4- Lakewind Spirits
5- Seneca Casino Its not a brewing compny but it is part of the local awesomeness of the area.
6- sad boy brewing
7- lockhouse distillery

Now after you have lived it up in the area I suggest you check out these very interesting places in the local area--
tift natuve preserve  this place shows what can be done with redeveloped land. ON another note, this is the last known spot that nomadic gypsies where seen in their traditional caravans in the US. I guess they found buffalo and decided to stay.
Canalside has become such an amazing addition to Buffalo culture. I have to admit I really like having an evening stroll through the park. Its comfortable enough to have wine in glasses in the park and let the kids play. good job city of buffalo.

Thats just some of the local attractions I find myself drawn to. I just love living in this area. Its a wonderland of Americana. Enjoy!
